The Arcae Federal Union also known as the AFU, was initially a union between the 2 nations, Port Sagittae, and Mensae Federal Republic.
Currently the AFU's member states also include other nations such as Laproton, Persys, and Ports, thought the exact lines between subdivisions is often blurry.
Flag
The flag was designed by Ezed21 with the goal of creating an appealing fusion between the flags of the Mensae Federal Republic and Port Sagittae.
Cities, Settlements, and Colonies
Port Sagittae 4
While there have been 3 other Port Sagittaes ever since alpha 6, Port Sagittae 4 (PS4) is the biggest and most recent. It is currently the AFU's capital and largest city. The city is currently being renovated to bring it up to more modern standards.
The city was founded during the very start of Alpha 9, with the city being planned with that update's ore buff in mind. During the summer of 2025 the city reached its peak player count of 18 players online when Adam Hase dropped by to visit.
Starting Christmas break of 2025 right after the addition of the paintbucket tool, the renovation began which is still ongoing.
Mensae

Laproton
Laproton or Old Laproton was the first city to join the AFU that was not apart of Mensae and Port Sagittae merger.
It was founded on 7/8/2025 under the name Stilttown, and officially joined the AFU on 7/11/2025 as Laproton. It reached a peak player count of 8 a little after Thanksgiving.
Laproton is a now abandoned city. It is located on 869-4.
Midasdale (Laproton 2)
Midasdale, more commonly referred to as Laproton 2 was founded in early December 2025. The style of the city is more focused toward medieval European architecture, making it stand out from the rest of the AFU.
The city usually averages at around 1-3 players per day, but once peaked at 12 people during a "conflict" with a newgen militia.
Controversy
Considering the merger, despite being somewhat publicly planned for months, was between a then growing minor power and dead city, the explosive growth that resulted from said merger caused a large upset in the defacto balance of power, as Senno/Vamani was (at the time) dethroned as the dominant galactic power until it later responded with the formation of Arvolis. While this upset on its own definitely wouldn't have been too much of a big deal on its own, many of the AFU's members, both old and new, became arrogant with this new dominant position. Excessive flexing became a problematic trend among prominent members of the nation which resulted in a lot of backlash from more established members of the larger sidereal community. While much of this arrogance and excessing flexing has since subsided, some of these established sidereal community members still hold a negative bias against the nation and visa versa.
On January 5th, 2026, a newgen "militia" led by Rique_Peco named Malazil "invaded" and "conquered" Laproton. In response, the AFU rallied 12 people at Midasdale and marched onto 14-3, the capital of Malazil. Rique immediately surrendered and backed his claims off of the city. Is this larping? Yeah. But who cares?
